A Spanish flavor is evident in the architecture of this 1912 building. The 3-story stucco building is adorned with wrought iron and planting boxes at the front steps. The tiles that decorate the walls outside the doors further enhance this effect. In 2008 Poplar’s interior common areas were remodelled with rich, plush carpeting and a glowing new color scheme. Efficiency of space in each of these studios does not leave quaint style lacking. The generous kitchens and spacious living area are comfortable as well as accommodating. Hardwood floors are in each apartment with plenty of cabinet space built in. Kitchens feature gas or electric stoves and large windows.
